Demotivation.
My hard drive died today so I’m currently having to use the college computers. Given that I do all my college work off my laptop studying for my exam friday just became even harder. And frankly, I’m sick of college. I was going to put in some demotivational pictures. But the pages won’t insert. Which is kind of ironic, but mostly a further kick in the nuts.
The Darkness #1 and #2 online for free
I’ve never been a major fan of the ‘Top Cow’ series ‘The Darkness’ - though it has had some good writers and artists. However, the new run of which the third issue hits the stands soon is quite good. Its written by Phil Hester and with art by Michael Broussard (who is still a bit in the ‘Top Cow’ House style but is gone nonetheless is quite good). Having our ‘hero’ set up as a dictator/drug dealer and placing him against the U.S govt. is a pretty good way to restart such a series. If you’re questioning whether to take a look at the series again or looking for something good from superhero comics that isn’t your Marvel/DC style you could do worse.
Issue #1 in full is here and partly here with #2 in full here

Violence in the country….
Was just reading this over at ProgressiveIreland.blogspot.com. It raises several interesting points - which are generally correct.
The fact is, that I feel the same. In the two years I’ve been going out in Cork I’ve hardly seen that much trouble and only had trouble myself once - in which the guys involved actually let me walk away. At home, I wouldn’t have had a chance.
Now granted, ‘home’ for me is Waterford - the city with the highest murder rate that isn’t gang-related in the country but still…. The simple fact is that whenever you’re out there there is an awful lot of argo on the streets. And while Cian on ProgressiveIreland was talking about the ‘country’ (small c) the fact is that in many ways Waterford is just a large town.
It’s a worrying situation, and made moreso by the fact that nobody (myself included) seems to have a handle on what’s cuasing it…
Ideas anyone?
I’m going to be thinking about this for a while…
According to the article here we could have giant insects in the world if the was more oxygen in the air. It’s a fairly interesting article but personally I’m kinda freaked out about the idea; giant insects with two-feet wingspans? Better get the bugspray…
1000th hit
Though I’m sure most of you will wonder why - I got my 1000th hit sometime over the last day or two. While I’m sure that means nothing to most of you - especially to those of you also blogging with your millions of hits, Gavin I’m looking at you on this. For me it’s a big deal so - whayhey!
On another note, apologies to all with the recent lack of posting.
