The Battle of Algiers

Recently ‘had’ to watch this as part of an International Relations course. Very enjoyable though it does take about 30 minutes to get good:

Christopher Walken sings ‘Delilah

I would love to know what film this is from! Funny stuff, though it’s not quite as good as this

wanted trailer

The trailer for the Mark Millar comic ‘Wanted’ is online here on yahoo … It’s a pity that Yahoo’s video player is so crap - I still haven’t been able to watch the damn thing properly.. Anyway,the trailer itself looks pretty good, even if its a bit Angelina heavy. Also, I’m not so sure about the change to the story that seems to make them ‘a pack of assassins controling the world system’ rather than them just being supervillians - mainly becuase you can already see how there will be a ‘good guy wins’ ending from the trailer. But maybe (hopefully) I’m wrong. And it does look like it’ll be a pretty entertaining movie.

Kung Fu Jesus

Apologies for the poor sound quality but this is too class a movie trailer to not post;

The Rock Concert 1, 2 and the encore;

While some of ye may recognise the Rock from his roles in the ‘Scorpion King’ series of movies he got his start in the (now)WWE. Watching him do these skits you would have to wonder why he hasn’t done better as a movie star, I mean, he’s funny, sings, dances and acts! And in fairness,watching this is less effort than my current attemts to read up on ‘introducing ethical theory’ and ‘Islamism and Occidentalism’…
Part 1 - the sound quality on this clip isn’t great which is very very annoying..

From the guys that brought you the ‘nee’ campaign…

I’ve talked about these guys before in various spots; here’s their current project - a ‘zero budget’ movie, this random clip isn’t too bad, has its moments of humour and it does look pretty good;

The Iron Man trailer

Looks pretty cool (except for the bit at the end with the planes which could look better),though I would have preferred if they had made the story more like the Warren Ellis story ‘Extremis’ but oh well.

Enviormentalism is ‘bullshit’?

I’m doing a course on Enviornmental Politics (least I think that’s its title) and given that I came across this Penn & Teller episode I decided I’d have a look. As usual with ‘Bullshit!’ you do feel that they may be going a bit OTT but its still interesting watching….

Some great lines in this - ‘those that oppose Globablisation use the tools of it to organise’ and ‘we’re not sure exactly of the numbers of species that go extinct’ (and its great who says that line) being my two personal favourites.

Also, its weird to see people like Bjorn Lomborg who I have already come across in this course. It does point out that plenty of Lomborg’s figure’s are … questionable. Anyway, its worth a look.

Jeremy Clarkson destroys a Lada..

Self-explanatory really…

The Simpsons Movie…

Long story short - don’t bother paying to see this. The film feels like 3 episodes shoved together (and three episodes from the new seasons which is worse) and even for the Simpsons the plot is ridiculous. Though, more importantly the film isn’t funny - some jokes, like the appearence of ‘little’ Bart are entertaining and such but they are not exactly ‘laughing in the isles’ material. Nothing in this film is. And when Monty Burns could have filled the spot of the lead villian as easily and you don’t well thats just stupid. 4 out of 10 becuase I’m feeling generous.
