Sabu Vs The Sandman - ECW ‘98
Been fairly busy lately - have at the moment got 6 or 7 posts that are mainly half written (and probably won’t be worth the wait) to do and finishing work late enough means relaxing time is kind of important. But I’m going to try and get back to some sort of regular pattern of posting. At least my traffics back up!
I got the two days off work I needed for Ozzy Osborne - hopefully the gig will be worth it, especially as it’s the last one I plan to be going to for a bit. Also, I want to head up to Cork for the weekend, so all you Corkonians I know, let me know if your around.
The reading list I have is not getting too well read through - especially because I keep getting books from the library. At the moment, I’m reading Norman Davies ‘Europe;East and West’. I’ll do a review once I’m finished it but long story short: It’s very good (if pricey).
The video here is an ECW match from one of its Pay Per Views in 1998 - for those who mock pro wrestling completely its worth a look to see how much damage these two guys go through to put on a show, in fact I’m fairly sure Sabu fractured his jaw in this match….
More people I know blogging…
Another (ex)UCC student joins the blogsphere skeletorhig. Not a whole lot on it yet but….
On other notes, I was actually going to write ‘ppl’ instead of ‘people’ - maybe there is something to this ‘text messages are destroying English’ thing….
It’s the end of the year…
For me anyway. College finished up today and now I’ve a month off to study. Not too happy about it to be honest, most of my friends are either not in the country or become very anti-social owing to study. As for me, I have been fairly on top of the whole college workload so I don’t feel too bad about it. Being on top of the ideas in the courses didn’t stop me doing a 1000 words for an essay this morning though. Ah well. With any luck, the month away should let me get back into some sort of regular(ish) posting. I still want to do a quick post on the Dublin City University/University of Limerick IV that was last weekend….
Granny Lost The Plot
Grandad’s other half has started a blog over here. Apparently this has put somewhat of a strain on their relationship - though to be honest I could see a lot of couples I know being happier if they simply just communicated by blog…
Have a look anyway.
In other news, it is Freakscene’s birthday in Cork so few prizes as to where I’ll be tonight. Need to get over last nights hangover though.
And the German revolutions of 1848/49 is really interesting.
Really.
Tech Question
Got Firefox back up and running, but certain sites - namely facebook and my o2 site won’t work. The site comes up, but when I try to log into my account it times out as if the site was down. Thing is, I can get into my account from Internet explorer. Anybody have any idea why this is happening?
‘A good, Christian Wife’..
One of the lads directed me to this. Don’t know whether to take it seriously or not. Even if it isn’t true I know there are people who do think this way anyway… Some highlights.
‘If he aims a playful swipe at your backside during the clearing, respond with an “oh you!”, smile and continue to the kitchen to get his dessert’.
‘Do not complain or question if your Husband has plans for after dinner. He has the right to a private life. Never call to check up on him. Use your free time to bake more, or to do his laundry’.
Statuatory Rape
Haven’t read The Swearing Lady before - my loss she’s very good. Anyway, though some of this is a bit outdated she covers the bulk of why our statuatory rape laws are a joke.
