Yet More Blogs

Sam is (FINALLY) back blogging with a new version of his old ‘Pull out the Pin’ blog. Sam and I disagree over, well quite a lot of things, but he’s definitely one of the more entertaining and probably the most easily talked to right-winger I know.

Greg Bowler (who I know through debating) is also running a ‘U.S Presidential Election Blog’ which is worth a look also…

That Tequila Girl…

.. is the name of my mate Katie’s new blog. Katie’s a pretty fun mate of mine from UL and her blog, which so far talks about doing drugs, peeing with the door open and college fees is well worth the look…

Revolution Cycle…

… is an event being run by a friend of mine Fearghal O’Nuallain. Here’s how the website describes it:

This November, Simon Evans and Fearghal O’Nuallain will begin the first Irish circumnavigation of the globe by bicycle. Their unsupported expedition will cover over 30,000km, passing through 30 countries and some of the highest, lowest, driest, coldest, warmest and loneliest places on earth. In doing so, they will be promoting the positive contribution that cycling can make to mental health and the environment, raising €100,000 for Aware and highlighting climate change

To get a feel for what the guys will be doing here’s their flickr site and a sample of their videos:

So I’ve been neglecting a few things lately…

Just a couple of links that are pretty interesting. The first is a new Stephen King series ‘N’ which has been made into a combination animated comic/cartoon in association with Marvel Comics. Seems pretty good from what the first episode shows anyway.

Next is ‘wrestling mania‘ which is more for my own entertainment, a handy blog with most of the big American shows on video.

Finally up, is a blog by my mate Harry from TCD. Definitely one of the more interesting characters I’ve met debating, his blog hasn’t a whole lot on it yet, but is worth the look.

Excerpt from ‘Bill O’Reilly, the opera’

This is hilarious:

Excerpt from “Mackris v. O’Reilly”, a baroque oratorio composed by Igor Keller. Libretto uses verbatim transcript of sexual harassment complaint brought against Bill O’Reilly in 2004

Blogger censorship; The begining?

Hopefully this sort of thing will be nipped in the bud before it becomes the norm;

Schillings, a London law firm specializing in media entertainment, then fired back for Usmanov with legal warnings to Fasthosts, the blog’s Internet service provider, demanding elimination of the posting within 24 hours.

More letters followed and by the fourth complaint, Fasthosts simply deactivated the Web site – along with two other servers, shutting down more than a dozen other sites, including that of a British member of Parliament.

“It’s extremely scary that this can happen, because they can take down something without anything being tested in court, without any legal sanction at all except a letter from a high-priced lawyer,” Murray said in an interview. “I’m very happy to have this tested in court. Why don’t they do that? Because that will bring together people who know the truth of the matter.”
