Blogging

A few mates blogs:

Firstly, we have the rather nerdy Economics, Politics and Public Policy blog from my mate Harry – a highlight so far has to be his analysis of what the recent UK election would have looked like under Proportional Representation (hint, everybody not Labour or Conservative got screwed).

On the other side we have two blogs from an old friend of mine – Orla’s Camino dealing with Orla’s plan to travel the Camino de Santiago despite some recent personal issues. It certainly makes me feel like travelling to Europe to live for a bit was not that big a deal! Here is her other, quite cool cookery blog which is also worth a look – I quite like the Naan Bread recipe she has.

Anyway, all three are definitely worth a look!

Yet More Blogs

Sam is (FINALLY) back blogging with a new version of his old ‘Pull out the Pin’ blog. Sam and I disagree over, well quite a lot of things, but he’s definitely one of the more entertaining and probably the most easily talked to right-winger I know.

Greg Bowler (who I know through debating) is also running a ‘U.S Presidential Election Blog’ which is worth a look also…

That Tequila Girl…

.. is the name of my mate Katie’s new blog. Katie’s a pretty fun mate of mine from UL and her blog, which so far talks about doing drugs, peeing with the door open and college fees is well worth the look…

Revolution Cycle…

… is an event being run by a friend of mine Fearghal O’Nuallain. Here’s how the website describes it:

This November, Simon Evans and Fearghal O’Nuallain will begin the first Irish circumnavigation of the globe by bicycle. Their unsupported expedition will cover over 30,000km, passing through 30 countries and some of the highest, lowest, driest, coldest, warmest and loneliest places on earth. In doing so, they will be promoting the positive contribution that cycling can make to mental health and the environment, raising €100,000 for Aware and highlighting climate change

To get a feel for what the guys will be doing here’s their flickr site and a sample of their videos:

So I’ve been neglecting a few things lately…

Just a couple of links that are pretty interesting. The first is a new Stephen King series ‘N’ which has been made into a combination animated comic/cartoon in association with Marvel Comics. Seems pretty good from what the first episode shows anyway.

Next is ‘wrestling mania‘ which is more for my own entertainment, a handy blog with most of the big American shows on video.

Finally up, is a blog by my mate Harry from TCD. Definitely one of the more interesting characters I’ve met debating, his blog hasn’t a whole lot on it yet, but is worth the look.

Excerpt from ‘Bill O’Reilly, the opera’

This is hilarious:
