Erin McKean - Redefining the Dictionary

Another really cool video from the TED lecture series.. I love her definition of serendipity! Tho I am really starting to get annoyed with the video player on TED. I don’t know why, but it seems like it takes me going away from the page as an excuse to reset the video..

Wrestling Gone Wrong & Act-I-Vate

Two great websites that I’ve neglected to put onto my blogroll so far - Wrestling Gone Wrong is pretty self-explanatory one would think, while Act-I-Vate is a ‘webcomics collective’ featuring some truly great talents. While I haven’t had a chance to go through all the content they have, I would happily recommend ‘Kelly’ by Dan Goldman, though be warned that it is a truly fucked-up piece of work and ‘Lily McKenzie’ by Simon Fraser

Ze Frank at a TED conference

Having finished the bulk of my exams I’m taking a few days off, I plan on spending today watching TED conference videos and pro wrestling. I imagine Cian would find this video good for a laugh somehow:

Where in the world is Osama Bin Laden?

I love the title of this movie, from the director of ‘Super Size Me’.. Watching this is certainly better than trying to study for my exam tomorrow, for which I don’t know what to do as my lecturer is the worst I’ve managed to have in the three years of my college career. Anyway, enjoy the clips & I love that the trailer has Gogol Bordello’s ‘Wanderlust King’ as the soundtrack:

I shall be released, covered by Jack Johnson, Eddie Vedder and others

Given exams start tomorrow, this song has been keeping me rather sane

(note, anybody with a copyright on this has a problem with this being up, contact me and it shall be removed)

Yet Another UCC blogger

Emer here at Lee Side Story. An absolutely class lady, she’s been unfortunate enough this year to get stuck with me for our US foreign policy classes and seminar. Take a look-see anyway…

The Adventures of Mark Twain

I already talked about part of this movie before, this is the whole film. Not bad, though certain parts are better than others. Its got a weird ‘metatextual’ vibe going on, though the Adam & Eve stuff is pretty good:

Justice League: The New Frontier

I may not have bought it yet but it is pretty good and well worth the buy. It has gotten the tone of the book down pretty well, though unsurprisingly enough, lacking the space for the subplots that made up the book, it feels a bit … emptier. On a tech note, for some reason the film goes into black and white every so often. Try and ignore it:
