A question on Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex

I recently just finished watching the first season and the movie that follows the second season and I have a question for all of you out there. While I ‘got’ the basic plot of the show from what was provided on the DVDs I’ve had to go around and read various things, including the wikipedia pages on the show to ‘get’ everything. Do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing for a show?

Depends, is it like pulp fiction where the book had an extra plot to the DVD?….or is it just stuff that should be in the series that just isn’t mentioned?

Well its more stuff like details that aren’t NECESSARY to the plot but still useful to know aren’t easily apparent.. you need to use the net to pick them all up… its hard to explain. You could understand the show by just watching the eps but the net makes it more complete?
