But is it worth the watch even if its free? It’s not a bad show, very ‘porny’, watch the opening credits alone and you’ll get that! Its a bit distracting from the rest of the show, but hardly too much of a change from the source material in many ways. Lots of ‘standard’ ideas from Anime – vaguely fascist governments, shadowy government agencies with dodgy methods, if not necessarily aims, destroyed Tokyo and so on. There are a few plots that are kind of weird; I mean I know the photographer is trespassing but surely it’d be better to own up to that than get accused of kidnapping? Also, the action sequence is kind of ‘easy’ – I mean, it is kind of obvious that the Witchblade has taken over our heroine when she fights the ‘Pulveriser’ but that she beats him so easy? There is such a thing as overselling your hero…
Anyway, its not that bad, though I’m not sure on the strength of this first episode that I’d bother looking for more. But if your an Anime fan at all, its 22 minutes of show and is probably worth a look before they take it down..
