I’m Really Going to have to create a ‘Hurricane Katrina’ category;

Really interesting article here.

”These aren’t just any homes. They are the public housing projects of the city; the Lafitte Houses and others. But unlike the cinder block monsters in the Bronx, these public units are beautiful townhouses, with wrought-iron porches and gardens right next to the tony French Quarter.”

and

Two decades ago, I worked for the Housing Authority of New Orleans. Even then, the plan was to evict poor folk out of this very valuable real estate. But it took the cover of a hurricane to do it.

While this sounds crazy, when one considers the attitude of the like of Laura Bush in and around the time of the hurricane and the like of this article i linked to it seems like the intention is still to screw the people of New Orleans as much as possible.

Just one of those things that made me laugh today;

The Times biography book of ‘Great Lives of the 20th Century’ from 2005 features Pope John Paul the second on page 666. I’m not joking – look it up.

Did George W. Bush allow Katrina to happen to hide his own negligence?

As unbelieveable as it sounds that’s the claim of this article;

“By midnight on Monday, the White House knew. Monday night I was at the state Emergency Operations Center and nobody was aware that the levees had breeched. Nobody.”

The charge is devastating: That, on August 29, 2005,

the White House withheld from the state police the information that New Orleans was about to flood. From almost any other source, I would not have believed it. But this was not just any source. The whistle-blower is Dr. Ivor van Heerden, deputy director of the Louisiana State University Hurricane Center, the chief technician advising the state on saving lives during Katrina.”

Eddie Vedder: ”I Am A Patriot” and along with Jack Johnson: ‘soon forget’

Really nice acoustic number from the ‘Pearl Jam’ lead singer. I have to admit, I love the guy’s voice…

Does this count as spamming yourself?

Play.com and the Book Depository. Both of them are pretty good value websites and I got my first deliveries from them within five days of my order… Not bad like. Especailly as they both do free delivery. Also a plus is that with the book depository anyway, they’re customer service regarding damaged items is very very good. Have a look.

Tech Problem

Ok, so I have about 140mb of free space on my hard-drive. Most of that is becuase of my Itunes. Now, having an 80gig ipod is only useful if you can fill it,but how do I put the music (thats taking up all the space on my hard-drive) and put in onto my external hard-drive, without losing all the music on my ipod?

The various lies of Rudi Giulani;

Wasn’t it Rudi who’s daughter put on her facebook that she supports Obama? Anyway regardless I don’t really like the man and am generally inclined to believe that he has simply piggybacked off the mythology of 9/11 to give himself a shot at the presidency. The writer of this (addmittedly rather long, but good) article feels the same. Have a look here.

Just because I really want to see this become the most searched phrase for ‘Karl Rove’

“I’m the proud owner of Karl Rove’s father’s solid gold cock ring.” The Original essay appears here
